Our journey began in the heart of Krakow, Poland, where Alicja and Les Kudla, the founders of Carolina Tile & Stone, were steeped in the architectural marvels of Europe's past. From the grandeur of Gothic monuments to the intricate designs of Renaissance palaces, their upbringing instilled in them an unwavering appreciation for the artistry and elegance of tile work. In the late 1980s, Alicja and Les immigrated to America, bringing with them their expertise as tile installers. Amidst the challenges of building a new life in a foreign land, they nurtured their love for tile, often accompanied by their young children who played amidst the sand and materials on job sites. In 2001, their dedication culminated in the establishment of Carolina Tile & Stone. With a showroom as their canvas and their extensive knowledge of installation and products as their palette, they laid the foundation for a business that has thrived for over two decades. Today, Carolina Tile & Stone continues to flourish under the leadership of their son, Dominic, and with the creative input of their daughter, Paulina, who spearheads our social media, website, and marketing initiatives. As a family-run business, we bring fresh perspectives and a commitment to excellence to every project. Paulina Snyder is a vital part of the team at Carolina Tile & Stone. As the daughter of the founders, she has grown up in the business and has invaluable experience in every aspect of the industry. Her time here has allowed her to hone her skills in client relations and creative branding. With her passion for innovation and her keen eye for design, and working as a Jr. interior designer in Charlotte. Her experience and expertise make her an invaluable asset to the team.
LEE DIXON
Director of Client Development
Lee brings nearly 4 decades of experience in the design and home renovation industry to our team. His early achievements began with invitations to Ringling College of Art and Design, and North Carolina School of the Arts. He spent time as a lead visual coordinator for a national fine furniture retailer and then as principal designer for a local fine furniture distributor.
In 2003, Lee transitioned into the tile and natural stone industry and never looked back! His approach to client and business development ensures an architectural process guides, directs and nurtures the best relationships within our team, and provides the strongest partnerships with our suppliers and ultimately our clients.
